Introduction

Sunday 1st January 2012, I have had a nice lie in after New Years Eve celebrations that for the first year in many were a sober affair but good fun.  Drinks in Horsforth a leafy suburb of West Leeds, followed by drinks at Gavin and Vicky’s abode and of course Buzz on the PlayStation and yes Gavin wins again.

Well it’s the start of a New Year and after reading well wishing texts and having just had a bowel of homemade bowl of chicken soup whilst watching Sunderland get a last minute goal to beat Manchester City, I thought it was about time that I got the Mac out and started to write something that I promised myself I would for the past 18 months.

Why wait so long and what am I going to write about????

Lets start with the latter, 04.03.10. 10.43 or Thursday 4th March 2012 at 10:43 I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer at Spire Hospital, Roundhay Leeds.

Why so long to start writing…its never been an issue that I would not put pen to paper, I think its just one of timing and getting my head right to start putting into words the journey I have just completed.

Why write one asks....someone possibly would rather put the experience of being treated for Cancer behind them, however I thought differently with the hope that my story of the journey I undertook may help others in the future.

Oh and before I forget I raised over £135 for ‘Beating Bowel Cancer” for Decembeard, which Lloyds Banking Group who I am employed by as an IT Service Manger doubled it, making it a whooping £270.

So lets go back to the beginning…..
